The Lebanon Fire Department was organized August 3, 1931. Ernest Winter acted as secretary for the meeting during which Alex Grosenick was appointed Chief. Carl Eske was appointed Assistant Chief and Otto Schwefel was appointed secretary/ treasurer.

The Jaws of Life were purchased in 1985 after a fund drive campaign through the joint efforts of the department, the Lebanon Lions Club and area residents.

The fire department protects an area of 48 square miles. This area includes 36 sections of the Town of Lebanon and 12 sections of Town of Emmet. The Department continues to improve their firefighting skills and rescue skills with monthly scheduled drills and meetings. The fire department is very active with fire prevention programs. We bring both public and parochial schools to the fire station each year in October for touring and fire prevention programs.

The Department is very busy with fundraising activities to offset cost of vehicles. We continue to host a firemen's picnic the last week of July each year. The Fire Department works together with Lebanon Lions to operate a concession stand in the firemen's park for the scheduled league sports throughout the summer. We thank the Towns of Lebanon and Emmet for their continued support.
